Events held at School of Biotechnology

2023

• Centre for Women’s Studies JU in collaboration with School of Biotechnology organised Gender Sensitization workshop titled “EMPOWERING AND NURTURING GIRLS FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE" on 28th November 2023

• Ph.D scholars and Master's students of School of Biotechnology accompanied by faculty of school, Dr. Sheetal Ambardar attended one day Scientific and technical outreach program organised by Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Mumbai in association with Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu on 10th October 2023.

• School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu organised a Lab visit of M.Sc 3rd Sem students to CSIR -IIIM Jammu  on the 82nd CSIR Foundation Day accompanied by faculty of the School Dr Bharatiraja, Dr Yash Pal Khajuria, Dr Sakshi  Sharma  and Mr. Ashish  Raina on 9th october 2023.

   

• School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu, organized the Induction program for M.Sc. Biotechnology students (2023 batch) on 12th September 2023.

• School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu, organized a farmers’ awareness meet on 23rd July 2023 for the introduction of saffron cultivation in non-traditional areas in Poonch district, in collaboration with Poonch Campus, of University of Jammu.

• School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu, in collaboration with Microbiologist Society of India, conducted an outreach and student’s sensitization activity on 26th June 2023 at Niru Middle School, Tuleil Valley, Gurez, Kashmir.

• School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu organised an outreach extension activity for the students of Bee Enn College of Nursing and Paramedical students on 25th May 2023.

• School of Biotechnology invited Prof. A.M. Deshmukh, President, Microbiologist Society of India for delivering a talk on "Biotechnology Solution to E-waste" on 3rd May 2023.

• Slogan competition on theme "Peace building and reconcilation:ushering in an era of no war" as run of activities under the agesis of Y20 and Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav held on 5th April 2023 in seminar hall of School of Biotechnology

• Lecture/Interaction on DBT/BIRAC supported Programme for startup and enterprenurial ventures by Dr. Aatmetya and Dr. Anchal Verma on 23rd March 2023 in School of Biotechnology

2022

• School of Biotechnology invited Dr. Kavita Suri, Professor, Department of Life long learning, University of Jammu, Jammu for delivering a talk on "Gender senstization programme" on 14th December 2022

• School of Biotechnology invited Dr. Savita Nayyar Department of Law, University of Jammu, Jammu for delivering a talk on "Constitutional Obligation: Values, Right, Duties and Responsibilities" on 30 November 2022

• Dr. Shri Ram Yadav, one of the alumini of School of Biotechnology delivered a talk on 28th November 2022.

• School of Biotechnology invited Dr. Asha Chaubey, Principal Scientist, CSIR, Jammu for delivering a talk on "Green processes for pharmaceutical applications" in connection with the week long Environmental Day Celebration on theme "Only One Earth" on 7th June 2022

• The School organized a Webinar in association with EBSCO on “EBSCO-Academic search complete user awareness programme” on 27^th September, 2021

• The School organized a Webinar in association with Principal Solutions Consultant for APAC from Medidata, Singapore on “Trends of Healthcare Industry in the Post-COVID Era and role of Technology” on 20^th March, 2021

• The School organized a Webinar in association with Innovation Technology Transfer Office, FITT, IIT, Delhi on “Significance of IP and Technology transfer: Unlocking the potential of Innovation ecosystem” on 23^rd July, 2020

2019

• The School conducted colloquim event on “Cancer is Preventable” on the World Cancer Day on 4th February, 2019 in collaboration with Sri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra and Govt. Medical College, Jammu

2018

• The School conducted A workshop on “Bio-entrepreneurship as alternative Career Path” on 8^th February, 2018

• Prof. M .A. Zargar from University of Kashmir, Srinagar has delivered a guest lecture on 26th Feb’2018 in the School entitled “ Career Options In Biology.”

• Dr. Wajid Bhat along with 19 students of Clinical Biochemistry from Kashmir University visited various Laboratories of the School on 22.01.18.

• Dr. Shajul Amir along with 19 students of Biochemistry Programme from Kashmir University visited various Laboratories of the School on 25.01.18.

• Mr. Kewal Kumar, HOD Chemistry and Mr. Azar Wazir, HOD Physics along with students from Govt. Degree College, Ram Nagar visited various Laboratories of the School on 26th Feb’2018.

• Dr.Vikas , IIT Delhi, Sonipat has delivered  a guest lecture in the school.

• Dr.C.K. John, National Chemical laboratories, Pune has delivered lecture on “Biological approaches to Saffron Products’ and “Techniques in Plant Tissue Culture”in the School on 1.08.2018.

• Dr. Klaus-J.Appenroth, Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, Matthias Schleiden Institute- Plant Physiology, Jena, Germany has deliverd a special guest lecture on ‘ The family of Duckweeds on the way to become an aquatic crop plants” in the School on 07.08.2018.

• The School organized one day visit for students from BEE ENN College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal, Jammu on 26th November 2018.

• Students from M.Sc. Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biochemistry program attended three weeks training course at National Institute of Biological Sciences (NIB), Noida from Dec’2018 to Jan’2019.

• School has organized Pre-Campus interview for the students of M.Sc. Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biochemistry by Mr Ashwani, CEO, DNA xperts Pvt. Ltd. On 29-04-2019.
