JU Organises Lecture on ‘Career as a Company Secretary’

August 25, 2026: The PG Department of Commerce, University of Jammu, organised an informative and interactive lecture on the topic “Career as a Company Secretary” for the students of the department. The session aimed to create awareness among students about career opportunities, professional responsibilities, and the scope of becoming a Company Secretary. CS Nitin Gupta, Associate Member, Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), accompanied by Mr. Sudip Kumar Mishra, Chapter-in-Charge, ICSI Jammu Chapter, and Ms. Ritika Mehra, Office Assistant, ICSI Jammu Chapter, interacted with the students. CS Gupta shared valuable insights about the profession of Company Secretary and explained the relevance and importance of a Company Secretary in an organisation. He also discussed the eligibility criteria, examination process, required skills, career opportunities, and professional growth in the field. The lecture was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Jeevan Jyoti, HOD, Department of Commerce. She encouraged the students to explore Company Secretary as a promising career option and made them aware of the professional scope and growth opportunities available after pursuing the CS course. The entire session was coordinated by Dr. Rupa Mahajan. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to CS Nitin Gupta, faculty members, and the students for their valuable contribution and active participation.
