Interactive Academic Lecture Enhances Professional Teaching Skills of M.A. Education Students

JAMMU, JULY 17: The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), University of Jammu, organised a guest lecture on "New Innovative Approaches in the Teaching-Learning Process" today at Hall 'A' of the Centre to familiarise M.A. Education students with contemporary teaching methodologies and practical classroom skills.
Former Principal, Khalsa College of Education, Dr. Madhu Singh, who was the resource person, delivered an interactive lecture highlighting the significance of innovative teaching-learning approaches in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical classroom experience. She emphasised the importance of effective lesson planning and elaborated on various teaching methodologies, including the Herbartian Approach, RCEM Approach, and Constructivist Approach, explaining their role in strengthening pedagogical competencies and preparing students for professional teaching.
Presiding over the function, Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), underlined the importance of adopting innovative teaching practices in the evolving education system. He said such academic interactions equip students with practical strategies for classroom organisation, effective time management, and student engagement, thereby helping create a more focused and productive learning environment while preparing them for future academic and professional responsibilities.
Earlier, the programme was inaugurated with a welcome address by Dr. Anuradha Goswami, Coordinator of the programme, who introduced the resource person and welcomed the participants.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anuradha Goswami, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, faculty members, students, and all those who contributed to the successful organisation of the event. She also acknowledged the support and cooperation extended by Dr. Ankita Sharma, Dr. Manisha, and other faculty members.
