University of Jammu Organizes Lecture on Hindi Spelling Errors at R.S. Pura School

JAMMU, JUNE 3: As part of its Lecture Series–3, the Directorate of Hindi, University of Jammu, organized an informative and interactive lecture at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, R.S. Pura, on Wednesday.
Dr. Koshika Sharma, Assistant Professor, Directorate of Hindi, University of Jammu, delivered an engaging lecture on the topic "Spelling Errors in the Hindi Language: Causes and Solutions". During the session, she emphasised the importance of correct Hindi writing, proper pronunciation, and greater linguistic awareness among students.
She explained common spelling errors in Hindi, mistakes in the use of matras, and the incorrect usage of anuswar and anunasik. She also elaborated on the proper use of visarga and consonants with suitable examples. In addition, she suggested effective ways to improve spelling through regular reading, the use of dictionaries, and consistent writing practice.
More than 150 students of Classes IX and X participated enthusiastically in the lecture and actively interacted with the speaker by asking questions and seeking clarification on their doubts. Teachers of the school were also present during the session.
The lecture was conducted under the expert guidance of Prof. Anju Sharma, Director, Directorate of Hindi, University of Jammu.
The Principal of the school, Dr. Bhavna Kotwal, appreciated the initiative taken by the Directorate of Hindi, University of Jammu, in promoting linguistic awareness and strengthening students’ command over the Hindi language.
