3-Month Certificate Programme on Accounting Concludes Successfully at Jammu University

JAMMU, MAY 8: The Skill, Incubation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (SIIEDC), University of Jammu, successfully concluded a three-month certificate course on “Basics of Accounting,” organised under its Skill Development and Career Planning vertical. The programme had commenced on January 19, 2026.

 

A valedictory function was organised to mark the successful completion of the programme, which equipped students with practical knowledge and fundamental accounting skills relevant to industry and professional requirements.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Alka Sharma appreciated the efforts of the coordinators and participants and highlighted the significance of skill-based education in enhancing employability and professional competence among students. She emphasised that such initiatives play an important role in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. She further stated that the University regularly conducts skill-based courses, open to all, which are delivered by renowned experts from academia and industry.

 

Prof. Garima Gupta also congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the programme and encouraged students to continuously upgrade their practical and professional skills to meet the evolving demands of the corporate and professional world.

 

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students throughout the duration of the course. Resource persons from within and outside the University were invited to deliver expert sessions, providing students with practical exposure and hands-on understanding of accounting concepts and applications.

 

Students appreciated the course and expressed their desire to participate in more such skill-oriented programmes offered by the University in future.

 

Certificates were distributed among the participants during the valedictory ceremony in recognition of their successful completion of the course.
