Kathua Campus, University of Jammu Launches UG Admissions for Academic Session 2026-27
Kathua, May 11: University of Jammu has commenced the online registration process for admission to Undergraduate Programmes at Kathua Campus, University of Jammu for the Academic Session 2026-27 under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) framework envisaged under the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020.
Admissions are being offered to Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) in Data Science, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and B.A. English (Honours) programmes. The online registration process will remain open from May 11 to May 23, 2026 through the official website of Kathua Campus, Kathua Campus. Admissions to B.Tech programmes in Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering offered through the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Kathua Campus, have also commenced from May 11, 2026.
Kathua Campus has been functioning since 2006 with the objective of providing quality higher education opportunities to students from rural and far-flung areas of the region. The Campus has consistently focused on academic excellence, holistic education, and student-centric learning.
The B.A. English (Honours) programme has been running successfully at Kathua Campus since 2022, while the BBA and BCA (Data Science) programmes are being introduced from the Academic Session 2026-27 to provide contemporary and career-oriented educational opportunities to students of the region.
The newly introduced programmes are expected to create promising opportunities in the fields of management, entrepreneurship, information technology, artificial intelligence, and data science, with emphasis on experiential learning and industry-oriented education.
Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, stated that the introduction of the BCA (Data Science) and BBA programmes marks an important step towards expanding multidisciplinary and career-oriented educational opportunities for students of the region. He emphasized that Kathua Campus remains committed to academic excellence and skill-based education in accordance with the vision of NEP-2020. He also encouraged students from Kathua and adjoining areas to avail themselves of the newly introduced programmes and the facilities available at the Campus.
Dr. Sourabh Shastri, Convener Admissions 2026-27 and Incharge Head, MCA, informed that the newly introduced BCA (Data Science) programme has been designed in accordance with emerging technologies and industry requirements. He stated that the programme would provide students with exposure to data science, artificial intelligence, and computing technologies for enhanced career prospects.
Dr. Rajani Kumari Sarangal, Incharge Head, MBA, stated that the BBA programme has been introduced with the objective of developing managerial, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills among students. She added that the programme would provide exposure to business administration, communication skills, and industry-oriented learning.
Dr. Nomita Sharma, Incharge Head, English, stated that the B.A. English (Honours) programme has been receiving an encouraging response from students since its introduction in 2022. She further highlighted that the programme focuses on literary studies, communication skills, critical thinking, and the holistic development of students.
Other faculty members associated with the admission process, including Lt. Amit Sharma, Dr. Meenakshi Thakur, Dr. Ritu Sharma, and Dr. Bharti Rana, were also present on the occasion.
