University of Jammu Celebrates Foundation Day of ISTD

Jammu, April 10, 2026: The International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD), Jammu Chapter, celebrated its Foundation Day by organizing an interaction and special lecture on the theme “Spiritual Intelligence: The Next Leadership Competency.”
Prof. Ashok Aima, Chairperson, ISTD Jammu Chapter, delivered an insightful address highlighting the transformation in leadership mindset—from “people work under me” to “people work with me” and ultimately to “I work for the people.” He emphasized that true leadership evolves through the integration of Vichar (thought), Aachar (behaviour), and Sanskar (values), which collectively shape ethical and purpose-driven leadership.
Prof. Hardeep Chachal, Director, ICccR & HRM and Vice Chairperson, ISTD Jammu Chapter, elaborated on the progression of leadership from a rational leader to an empathetic leader and ultimately to a spiritual leader. She introduced the concept of “Sacha Sauda” (true service), underscoring the importance of selfless action and value-based leadership as the foundation for sustainable success and meaningful organizational impact.
Dr. K. S. Chandrasekar, Mentor, ISTD Jammu Chapter, and Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, General Secretary, ISTD Jammu Chapter, were instrumental in conceptualizing and organizing the programme.
Earlier, the programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Isha Sharma, Senior Assistant Professor, ICccR & HRM, who highlighted the significance of spiritual intelligence in contemporary leadership practices.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Swati Sharma, who ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.
Other faculty members, including Prof. Jeevan Jyoti, Dr. Harleen Kour, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Dr. Neha Gupta, Dr. Shivani Rana, and Dr. Parul Mahajan, also contributed significantly to the successful organization of the event.
