University of Jammu registers  resounding 70-run victory over MPKV Rahuri

Ludhiana  November 09: University of Jammu cricket team continued its winning momentum with a dominant 70-run victory against MPKV, Rahuri, in the ongoing All India Vice-Chancellor’s T-20 Tournament.

Batting first, the University of Jammu put up an impressive total of 200 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. The highlight of the innings was a brilliant unbeaten century by Shantul (113 not out), who showcased remarkable consistency and power hitting. He was well supported by Sandeep Bakshi, who played a fluent knock of 71 not out, helping the team reach a commanding total. For MPKV Rahuri, Sachin Bhingarde bowled a fine spell, claiming 4 wickets.

In reply, MPKV Rahuri were bowled out for 130 runs in 17.5 overs. Sachin Sonawane (43) and Satpal (21) were the top scorers for their side. The University of Jammu’s bowling attack proved too strong, with Karan delivering an outstanding performance, taking 4 wickets for just 17 runs in 3.5 overs, while Rajesh took 3 for 23, Amin bagged 2 wickets, and Raj Kumar Bakshi claimed 1 wicket.

For his remarkable century and match-winning contribution, Shantul Raina was declared the Man of the Match.
