Department of Strategic and Regional Studies, University of Jammu Commemorates Birth Anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh

The Department of Strategic and Regional Studies (DSRS), University of Jammu, organised a commemorative event on September 29 to mark the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, which falls on September 28. The program, conducted by the PG students of DSRS, paid tribute to the legendary revolutionary whose ideals of courage, sacrifice, and nationalism continue to inspire the nation.

The program commenced with floral tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, followed by a series of activities highlighting his vision of nationalism, courage, and social justice. Students, including Ms. Nidhi Sharma, Ms. Kanika Chib, Mr. Sajjal Khajuria, Mr. Harsh Khajuria, and Mr. Piyush Choudhary, actively coordinated and participated in the event.

On this occasion, special talks were delivered by Dr. Ganesh Malhotra, Dr. Ranjan Sharma, and Dr. Sunil Kumar. The speakers emphasized the relevance of Bhagat Singh’s revolutionary thought in contemporary times, particularly in the context of youth empowerment, national security, and the spirit of selfless service to the nation. They also encouraged the students to imbibe the values of courage, integrity, and sacrifice that Bhagat Singh embodied.

The commemoration not only provided a platform for the students to revisit the life and contributions of the great revolutionary but also inspired them to carry forward his legacy through academic excellence and social responsibility.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the student organizers, expressing gratitude to the faculty members and participants for making the program meaningful and impactful.
