Induction Programme 2K25 at Kathua Campus, University of Jammu concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony, marking the end of a vibrant series of academic, cultural, and sports activities aimed to welcome and orient the newly admitted students.
Setting the tone for the event, Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu delivered the keynote address. In his inspirational speech, Prof. Jasrotia emphasized the importance of discipline, perseverance and holistic learning in achieving success. He urged students to embrace both academic excellence and extracurricular engagement as essential components of personal and professional growth.
Earlier, Dr. Sourabh Shastri, In-Charge Head of the MCA Department and Convener of the programme welcomed the gathering and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the students’ enthusiastic participation in the activities and encouraged them to sustain the same zeal throughout their academic journey.
Adding to the celebratory spirit, the Valedictory Ceremony came alive with a spirited prize distribution to honour the champions and runners-up of the sports competitions held during the induction week. The thrill began with the Chess Competition, where sharp moves and strategy crowned Kunal Singh (MBA 1st Semester) as winner, with Tarun Jamwal (MBA 1st Semester) close behind as runner-up. The excitement then rallied into the Table Tennis Competition, as swift volleys saw Harsh Jamwal (MBA 1st Semester) claim the top position, followed by Mohit (MCA 1st Semester) in second place. In the Carrom Board Competition, Mohd. Sajjid (MCA 1st Semester) demonstrated pinpoint accuracy to secure victory, while Deepanshu (MCA 3rd Semester) earned the runner-up title. The sporting honours concluded with an energetic Badminton Competition, where agility and teamwork propelled Rishav (MCA 3rd Semester) to the winner’s podium, with Riya Verma (MBA 1st Semester) securing the runner-up spot.
Building on this spirit of enthusiasm and participation, the cultural segment of the celebration brought together vibrant performances by Prasmi, Shriya, Sanjana, Harsh, Abhilasha, Shamli, Janvi, Sajid, Neetu, Madhavi, Manya, Akhilesh, Khushi, Atul, Tarun, Bhavya, Tania, Manya, Vandana, Simran, Sohani, Bandhana, Mannat, Abhay and Vansh, adding colour, creativity and energy to the event.
Bringing the ceremony to a close, Dr. Rajani Sarangal, In-Charge Head of the MBA Department and Organising Secretary of the programme delivered the formal vote of thanks. She expressed her gratitude to all faculty members, student coordinators and participants for making the programme a grand success, highlighting how such initiatives foster camaraderie, confidence and a strong sense of belonging among students.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Ritu Sharma, Assistant Professor, The Management School. The event also witnessed the presence of distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Vivek Sharma (Academic Coordinator), Lt.
