JU students shine at FICCI GITB at Jaipur
Jammu May 04: School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM), University of Jammu organized a visit of MBA (TTM) students to the prestigious 14th FICCI Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) being held in Jaipur. The students working as official volunteers for FICCI had the unique opportunity to gain practical exposure to the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), event management, and international tourism business.
Prof. Anil Gupta, Director, SHTM, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the visionary approach of Prof. Umesh Rai, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, who advocates for skill-based and experiential learning. He further said that students active involvement in this international event allowed them to understand the scale, professionalism, and networking dynamics of one of India’s biggest B2B tourism events.
During their visit, the students had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Vikas Gupta, Director, Tourism, Jammu, who commended the efforts of SHTM for encouraging student involvement in such high-level industry platforms. He appreciated the university’s initiative in ensuring students are industry-ready through practical exposure.
Dr. Suvidha Khanna, Dr. Priyanka Sharma and Mr Sachin Thapa also accompanied the students to GITB.
