Department of Law, University of Jammu Hosts Induction Programme for LLB and LLM Students
The Department of Law, University of Jammu organized an induction programme for its first-semester LLB three-year degree course and first-semester LLM students, featuring a guest lecture on "Professional Ethics in Legal Profession" by Mrs. Seema Khajooria Shekher, Senior Advocate, Honb'le High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.This event was part of a series of programmes conducted by the University of Jammu to support students in their transition to academic life and prepare them for future careers in law.
During her lecture, Mrs. Seema Khajooria Shekher emphasized the importance of ethics in the legal field, highlighting the crucial role that legal professionals play in upholding justice and maintaining public trust. She also discussed the ethical implications of tutoring witnesses, emphasizing the need for lawyers to avoid any actions that could compromise the integrity of witness testimony or the legal process.
The programme included a welcome address by Prof. Manju Jamwal, Head of the Department of Law, and a vote of thanks by Dr. Vijay Saigal. Dr. Navdeep Kour Sasan conducted the proceedings. The faculty members attended the event, including Prof. Satinder Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Law; Prof. Arvind Jasrotia; Prof. Savita Nayyar; Dr Mohd Arif, Dr. Aarti Sharma; and Dr. Sonia Aneja.
