CDOE, JU signs MoU with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Jammu

Jammu, January 20: The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), University of Jammu, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Jammu, J&K on 20th January 2026 at Registrar office, University of Jammu, Jammu to establish a collaborative partnership for the conduct of training programmes for learners enrolled in Distance Education programmes of CDOE.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) seeks to strengthen skill development, enhance digital competencies, and improve the employability of learners through structured training and capacity-building initiatives in the fields of Electronics and Information Technology. As part of the collaboration, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) will conduct capacity-building and training programmes for faculty members of the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE).
Learners of CDOE who appear for and successfully qualify the online examinations for NSQF-aligned courses will be awarded certificates issued by NIELIT Headquarters. In addition, NIELIT will offer selected courses to CDOE learners free of cost, subject to mutually agreed terms and conditions. To support the effective implementation of the programmes, NIELIT will also provide teaching and technical resources for training activities conducted at the premises of CDOE.
The agreement was signed through the Registrar, University of Jammu, Jammu, on behalf of the University and the competent authority of NIELIT, J&K Jammu. Prof. Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, Director, CDOE, Prof. Sandeep Kour Tandon, Director, CIQA, CDOE and Dr. Sumita Sharma, Joint Registrar, CDOE were present at the event.
Under the provisions of the MoU, both institutions shall collaboratively design and implement training programmes, workshops and certificate courses specifically aligned with the academic and professional requirements of learners enrolled in Distance Education programmes.
This collaboration will facilitate greater access to practical training, industry-oriented skills and professional exposure for learners, thereby contributing significantly to the enhancement of quality, relevance and outreach of distance education offered by CDOE, University of Jammu.
