PG. Deptt. JU Cinches Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi (Women) Tournament 2025–26 Title
The Post Graduate Department of the University of Jammu, emerged as champions of the Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi (Women) Tournament 2025–26, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
The much awaited grand finale, held at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, witnessed a thrilling contest as the top teams showcased high-octane performances, battling it out for the coveted championship.
Earlier in the day, the semifinal matches kept the spectators on edge with their thrilling finishes.
First Semi-final: GDC Billawar defeated GCW Udhampur by a margin of four (04) points.
Second Semi-final: PG. Department, JU edged past GCW Parade by ten (10) points.
In the final clash, the PG. Department JU team demonstrated tactical supremacy and exceptional coordination to outplaying GDC Billawar by 12 points to lifting the championship trophy in style.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, presented the trophy and medals to the winners and runners-up amid loud cheers from the gathering. He congratulated the champions for their outstanding achievement and commended all participants for their spirited performances.
Other prominent faculty members and officials present on the occasion included Dr. Vimal Kishore, Sh. Ravish Vaid, Sh. Vikas Karlopia, Sh. Gagan Kumar, Sh. Jai Bharat, Sh. Shashi Kumar, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Sh. Narinder Paul Sharma, Dr. Mahak, S. Harinderpal Singh, Mr. Rishiv Sharma, and Ms. Richa Mandla, along with officials and participants from affiliated colleges of the University of Jammu. Their presence added significance to the event and reflected the collective commitment of the University towards promoting a vibrant sports culture.
The tournament was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, whose dedicated team ensured smooth conduct of the event with a strong emphasis on discipline, fair play, and organizational excellence.
The technical panel for officiating the matches included Sh. Anil Sharma, Sh. Ajay Gupta, Sh. Dheeraj Sharma, Sh. Keshav Singh, S. Amandeep Singh, Sh. Raki Sharma and Sh. Gagan Kumar, whose professional expertise ensured that all matches were played in strict adherence to the rules of the game.
