Kathua Campus, University of Jammu in collaboration with SBI initiates Plantation Drive in the Campus.

Kathua, August 21: Kathua Campus, University of Jammu in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI), today initiated a large-scale Plantation Drive at the Campus under SBI’s

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The drive will continue for 2–3 days and aims to plant approximately 500 medicinal, ornamental and fruit-bearing plants across the Campus.

SBI has generously donated plants, tree guards and shall provide labour support at the Campus to make this drive successful. The plantation is being carried out particularly in the

flood-affected areas of the Campus, which suffered soil erosion during the heavy rains and floods on the night of 17–18 August and the initiative is intended to help prevent future soil erosion and safeguard flood-prone zones within the Campus.

Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus in his message emphasized the importance of such initiatives and shared that regular plantation drives will be undertaken under the “Green Campus Initiative” to promote environmental sustainability at the Campus. He further narrated that this collaborative effort between SBI and Kathua Campus highlights the strong commitment of both organisations towards creating a greener, cleaner and more sustainable environment for the future.

On this occasion, Sh. Ankush Khajuria, Chief Manager and Sh. Sarabjeet Singh, Manager, SBI SME I E Branch Kathua along with other officials from SBI joined hands with the Campus fraternity. Dr. Pankaj Khajuria, Assistant Registrar, Kathua Campus, Ms. Neena Chanda, Sh. Rohit Kerni, JCO Supervisor, Security and all non-teaching staff were present and participated in plantation drive.
