Jammu, August 14: The University of Jammu commemorated Akhand Bharat Sankalp Diwas at the Dhanvantari Library premises, reaffirming the ideals of unity, integrity, and nation-building.

Presiding over the event, Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Dean of Research Studies, reflected on the historical factors that led to the disintegration of the erstwhile Bharat Rashtra. She urged participants to draw lessons from history, remarking, “Learning from our past is essential. The steps we take today should lead us toward realising the vision of Viksit Bharat.”

Prof. Virender Koundal, Director, Department of Strategic and Research Studies, highlighted the significance of India’s rich cultural and civilizational heritage. “Our inherited values must be preserved, nurtured, and passed on to the next generation,” he emphasized.

Sharing his perspective, Dr. Vikram Sahi, Librarian, Central University of Jammu, drew parallels between India’s glorious past and its present aspirations. He stressed the importance of historical awareness in shaping a vibrant, progressive, and unified future.

The programme was organized by Yuva Bharat, a student- and scholar-led initiative, with Mr. Jarnish Bandral from the Department of Law managing the proceedings.

The ceremony concluded with all participants taking a solemn Sankalp (pledge) to contribute towards strengthening the nation’s unity, integrity, and greatness.
