NSS Campus Unit –I, University of Jammu organized Cleanliness Drive under the Theme: Keep your University Clean and Green

The NSS Volunteers of Campus Unit-I, Faculty of Social Sciences and Arts, University of Jammu participated in Cleanliness Drive under the Theme: Keep your University Clean and Green on 27th January 2023. More than 50 Volunteers participated in the cleanliness drive and cleaned surrounding area of Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Languages, Department of Sociology, Department of Psychology and Department of Life Long Learning. The volunteer collected pebbles, wrappers, broken glasses, bottles, dry leaves and other waste material in proper garbage bags and which was further disposed off with the cooperation of the Health Centre, University of Jammu. NSS volunteers also generated awareness among the students to keep their surroundings clean and adopt healthy life style. Proper masks and gloves were given to the volunteers and due care with regard to safety measures were taken. The cleanliness drive was conducted under the mentorship of Prof. Umesh Rai, Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor and Chairman; NSS University of Jammu who lauded the efforts put in by NSS volunteers and congratulated them for the successful conduction of the event. Dr. Savita Nayyar, Convenor, NSS Campus Units, University of Jammu also congratulated the entire team and added that the main motive for the cleanliness drive was to spread awareness and appealed to organize such events regularly. Prominent among those who were present includes Dr.Hema Gandotra, NSS Programme Coordinator, Dr Mandeep Singh, Programme Officer, Unit IV. The event was overall Coordinated by Dr. Shallu Sehgal, NSS Programme Officer, Campus Unit-I .
