Reasi Campus, University of Jammu celebrated 74th Republic Day

Reasi Campus of the University of Jammu has celebrated today 74th Republic day of India with great fervour and zeal on 26.01.2023. The function was attended by all the staff members, students and persons from the civil society. The celebrations started by unfurling of the national flag  by Prof. Sushil K. Pandey, Director, Reasi Campus, followed by national anthem.  At the outset, Prof. Pandey greeted and congratulated everyone on celebrating the 74th Republic day of India.  In his address, he elaborated on the basic approach of the constitution "We are Indians, firstly and lastly" which was an unique concept adopted by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar while framing the draft of the constitution. He also recalled the supreme sacrifices made by great freedom fighters to attain an independence from the British rule in 1947. He urged to all to comply with their fundamental duties as per the constitution while thinking of their fundamental rights provided by the constitution. At the same time he has elaborated the key features of Indian constitution which provided equal rights to every citizens of the country. The students and faculty members have organized a cultural programme on this occasion comprising poetries, speeches, patriotic songs and dances. The programme was culminated with high tea and distribution of sweets for all. Prof. Pandey has complimented to all staff members and students for their active and enthusiastic participation and also thanked everyone especially to Dr. Nisha Sharma and Mr. Manoj Kumar for their tireless efforts in organizing the event successfully. Others who were present on the occasion namely Ms. Diksha Bharti, Mr. Ravi Kumar, Babloo Salaria and Sandeep Sharma.
