The three day Kathak Dance workshop was today inaugurated by Mohd.Aziz CEO Reasi. The workshop is being organized by Institute of Music and Fine Arts, University of Jammu in collaboration with Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi.  Speaking on the occasion,  the CEO lauded the efforts of the Institute.  IMFA is promoting Music and Fine Arts particularly Kathak Dance in the remote areas like Reasi, describing Kathak part and parcel of Indian culture the CEO assured his full cooperation for organising the event. 

Principal IMFA Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, in his Introductory remarks, discussed the aim and objectives of IMFA and informed that approximately 300 students are getting their education in the different nine professional courses of IMFA.  He further said that a successful workshop was organised recently by the Kathak dance Department under the able guidance of  HoD Dr Priya Dutta at Rajouri,  which was highly appreciated by the people of border District. In near future more workshops would be organised in various district headquarters of Jammu region to educate the masses about the country's rich cultural heritage.  

Earlier the workshop was started by Presenting the Ganesh Vandna by the students and faculty members of Kathak department followed by live Kathak Dance and Bandish on Shringar  Rasa presentation.  Program was highly appreciated by the audience. Whole workshop was conducted under the guidance of Dr Priya Dutta HoD Kathak Dance IMFA.  Rajkumar Behrupia, Vijay Kumar, Shivani Kapoor and students of kathak Dance Department assisted Dr Priya Dutta in organizing the workshop. 

Earlier, the welcome address was presented by Principal Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi.
