A two weeks online refresher course (RC) in Environmental sciences (Interdisciplinary)started at the University of Jammu, Jammu. Honorable Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof. M.K. Dhar graced the inaugural event as Chief Guest. Professor Dharin his address emphasized upon utilizing the knowledge gained by the attendee assistant professors during the refresher course to make aware the students of their respective academic institutions about sustainable practices and recent advancements in the field of environmental sciences. Prof. Dhar also suggested the participants to extensively study and follow the National Education Policy (NEP) guidelines to enhance the overall teaching-learning experience. Earlier, Prof. S. K. Pandita,Director, Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), University of Jammu welcomed the participants and dignitaries present in the inaugural session of the refresher course. He gave a brief account of HRDC, University of Jammu, and discussed the need for organizing such courses.Prof. Piyush Malaviya, Course Coordinator and Head, Department of Environmental Sciences explained the overall structure of the refresher course and informed that due to the interdisciplinary nature of the course, experts from diverse educational and research institutions and industries, and various geographical regions both from within and outside India, having expertise in diverse research fields are invited for knowledge sharing in this RC in Environmental Sciences. The course is being attended by Assistant Professors from various institutions across the country.The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ranjeet Kalra, Deputy Director,HRDC. The session was also attended by Dr. Deepika Slathia and Dr. Rakesh Atri, faculty members of the Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu.
