JU Marks Earth Day with Educational Activities at Wadia Museum

Jammu, April 22: Earth Day, observed annually on 22 April, is celebrated worldwide to promote environmental awareness and encourage conservation efforts. At the Wadia Museum of Natural History, this day was marked with educational and awareness-oriented activities.
The museum, which houses collections of rocks, minerals, and fossils, provides a rich platform for understanding Earth’s history and natural heritage. On Earth Day, students and faculty participated in exhibitions on natural history and biodiversity, lectures and presentations on environmental conservation, awareness programs highlighting issues such as climate change and pollution, and interactive sessions that connect geological knowledge with present-day environmental challenges.
Such celebrations aim to sensitize students to the importance of protecting natural resources and inspire them to adopt sustainable practices. The Wadia Museum plays an important role in linking scientific knowledge with environmental responsibility, making Earth Day celebrations meaningful and educational.
