Kathua Campus (JU) organizes Innovative ‘Parisar Swachhata Abhiyan’

NSS Campus Unit-VI, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu organized a Campus Cleanliness Drive - “Parisar Swachhata Abhiyan”, in which students from Kathua Campus and UIET participated. The drive aimed to promote cleanliness, civic responsibility, and a sense of appreciation for the sanitation workers who work tirelessly to maintain a clean and hygienic campus environment.
A special highlight of the programme was the felicitation of sanitation workers of UIET and Kathua Campus. Recognizing their valuable contribution and dedicated service, the sanitation workers were felicitated and presented with gifts as a token of appreciation and gratitude. Their dedicated efforts were acknowledged, particularly the fact that they arrive at the campus every day, often before the students and faculty, and work diligently to keep the campus clean, hygienic, and welcoming.
The cleanliness activity was further made innovative and engaging through gamification. The participating students were divided into different groups, with each group assigned a specific area of the campus. A Cleanliness Challenge was conducted, wherein the groups competed to collect the maximum amount of litter from their designated areas.
The activity transformed the cleanliness drive into an energetic and meaningful team-based challenge, generating enthusiasm among students and reinforcing the message that cleanliness is a collective responsibility.
