Kathua Campus (JU) organizes Expert Lecture on “Role of Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Future”

Kathua, May 05: Department of Computer Science & IT in association with University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET), Kathua Campus, University of Jammu organized an expert lecture on the topic “Role of Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Future”. The lecture was delivered by esteemed academician Dr. Yashwant Singh, Professor and Registrar at Central University of Jammu.

Dr. Yashwant highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in promoting sustainable development. He detailed real-world applications of AI in areas such as climate modelling, renewable energy optimization, precision agriculture, and smart urban infrastructure. He further emphasized the need to integrate AI solutions to build a greener, more resilient, and sustainable future.

Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus (JU) in his message lauded the initiative of faculty to organize the lecture on such a significant topic. He further emphasized the responsibility of academic institutions in spreading awareness of cutting-edge technologies and fostering a culture of innovation and research among students.

Dr. Rockey Gupta, Principal, UIET inspired students to actively engage with the field of Artificial Intelligence and explore its vast potential in addressing critical environmental challenges. He emphasized that AI-driven solutions can significantly contribute to sustainability and societal well-being, urging young minds to be part of this transformative journey.

At the outset, Dr. Sourabh Shastri, In-charge Head of the MCA Department welcomed the resource person and underscored the growing relevance of AI in addressing modern sustainability challenges.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Bharti Rana. Amit Sharma, Dr. Sunny Sharma, Pranav Ratta, Er. Sandeep Raj, Dr. Vivudh Gupta, Er. Sourav Gupta, Er. Rakshit Khajuria, Er. Puneet Kour, and Er. Jewanjot were also present during the session.
