JU in collaboration with Fist Fighters Club organizes a Marathon race to commemorate 153rd Gandhi Jayanti

The University of Jammu in collaboration with Fist fighter club organised the 2nd edition of the half marathon to commemorate 153rd Gandhi Jayanti. Prof Umesh Rai, the Chief Guest on the occasion flagged off the marathon rally. To cherish & rejuvenate ideals propounded by Mahatma Gandhi ji, one of which was emphasis on cleanliness, Prof Umesh Rai launched Swachta Abhiyan on the Campus. He urged that the University must endeavour to follow the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Chancellor and lead by example and contribute to the well-being of society. Vice-Chancellor further added that Under NEP 20, Sports is an integral part of the curriculum.2nd edition of the half marathon to commemorate 153rd Gandhi Jayanti. Prof Rai on the occasion congratulated organisers and the Non-Teaching Employees Union for choosing 2nd October as an occasion where members of the University of Jammu and the civil society got together to pay tribute to Father of the Nation and the freedom fighter, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi, Known for his ideals of  'ahimsa.

Prof Prakash Anathal, Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu, Former Minister R,S Chib and SSP Randhir Singh were Special Guests on the occasion. The Vice-Chancellor in presence of dignitaries also distributed the medals and trophies to the winner and the runner-up of the marathon.
