7 Day Experiential Leadership Development Programme organized by ICccR & HRM, JU concludes at Raison, Himachal Pradesh

International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, organized a 7-Day Education-cum-Leadership Development Program with Himalayan Vagabond Adventures at Raison, Himachal Pradesh for MBA (International Business), students. The programme was aimed at providing every student with an in-depth understanding of their strengths and areas of improvement so as to develop them into effective leaders. During the training program, the students were introduced to the ideas of leadership, derailment, personality, team building and the programme was designed such that it has a mix of training methods: high fidelity business simulations, one-to-one coaching sessions and survival trainings.

The contents of Leadership Development Program were inclusive of acclimatization walks, local culture sensitization trainings, interaction with local entrepreneurs, outdoor education sessions, in-house adventure activities (Burma Bridge Sloth Walk & Bamboo Bridge) and team building exercises. Students of MBA (IB), also visited local cottage manufacturing unit, engaged in local produce like pickles, spices and juices.
The visit familiarized the students with the local manufacturing initiatives supporting local produce, empowering local women, development of local skilled labor, thereby putting spotlight on the Entrepreneurial initiatives in the town of Raison, Himachal Pradesh.

The trainings were followed by leadership development exercises that helped students to outline the qualities and skills of each leadership position in the organization and the key proficiencies needed for mastering leadership situations.
The activities targeted for the introspection included expeditions to Rhododendron forest across series of alpine meadows to Mozak and Dhauladhar Range and peaks like Hanuma Tibba, Makkar Bay, Shikhar Bay and Patalsu Peak. The students were trained by team of professionals from Himalayan Vagabonds under the mentorship of Mr B D Negi, Managing Director, Himalayan Vagabonds, Manali-Himachal Pradesh, a social psychologist and an expert in experiential leadership trainings (academic as well as corporate), seasoned traveller and trekker. The MBA (International Business) Semester II student, Mr. Nikhil Kumar was awarded as best performer of  the 7 day Leadership Development Programme.

“The 7-Day LDP enabled us to immerse in the real time situations that call for coping, acting and decision making on contingency basis. The out of classroom learning empowered us to form teams, make collective decisions and execute tasks as per the timelines- WE CAME HERE AS GROUPS AND ARE LEAVING AS TEAMS- Experience Sharing by Students of MBA (International Business) Programme”.

Professor Hardeep Chahal, Director, ICccR & HRM, highlighted the significance of Leadership Development Program, and stressed that it is an experiential and field based learning for the students, the budding leaders to develop the skills they need to cope within organization and grow in their careers ahead.

The program was organized by Dr. Isha Sharma, Assistant Professor, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu and Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Faculty at ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu.

The Leadership Development Programme was led by Dr. Shivani Rana Faculty at ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu.

Two-Day National Level Intellectual Property (IP) Yatra Program

Few glimpses of the students of ICccR and HRM attending the Two-Day National Level Intellectual Property (IP) Yatra Program, along with Faculty coordinators Dr. Neha Gupta, Dr. Shivani Rana and Dr. Swati Sharma.

The program is an initiative of PhD Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Office of the Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, organised on 30th of November and 1st December 2023 at Reagle Park, Greater Kailash, Jammu.

IP Yatra, is an initiative of the Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises to improve the IP culture in India and to enhance the awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) amongst the MSMEs.

The objective of the Two-Day IP Yatra Programme is to provide hand-holding and expert guidance to the MSMEs for registering their IPRs and provide them with a platform at the local level to showcase their innovation & creativity. Also to increase the number of IP filings to strengthen the IP ecosystem and cultivate the culture of innovation by offering legal and intellectual property filing support by connecting them to Intellectual Property Facilitation Centres (IPFCs) set up by the Ministry of MSME, GoI.
