Welcome cum Farewell Function

Department of Education organizes welcome cum farewell function for the M.A. & M.Ed. students regularly.

Conduct of Picnic

The department takes quality initiatives to groom the students of the department in research and teaching field, it also makes an endeavour to develop aesthetic values among the students. For this, department organizes regular picnics for the students, research scholars, faculty members and non-teaching staff of the department. It helps in creating awareness regarding the environment, the importance of nature in their lives and the need to preserve and conserve it for their own survival and that of the next generation.

Educational Tour

The department organizes educational tours annually and students of the department have been provided the opportunity to visit the renowned educational institutions of India to get exposure to their working culture.

Workshops and Seminars including academic events

1. School Internship of M.A. IV Semester students was conducted in three schools, i.e., Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Satwari, Govt Boys High School, Satwari and Govt Middle School, Railway Colony, Jammu w.e.f. 12^th-31^st May, 2022.
2. Department of Education recently started ‘Special Lecture Series’ for the M.A. & M.Ed. students of the department.
3. Round table interactions with experts exclusively conducted for the research scholars of the department.
4. Organized poster making and slogan writing along with cleanliness drive in the surroundings of the department on the occasion of 52^ndEarth Day Celebration Worldwide, conducted by Green Campus Task Force, University of Jammu on 22^nd April, 2022.
5. Homage paid to the 44 brave soldiers of CRPF on their martyrdom on 14^th February, 2022 by the students, research scholars, teaching and non-teaching faculty of the department.
6. Organized workshops on Curriculum Planning and Designing in the light of NEP 2020 for Education as subject at UG level, M.A. Education, B.Ed. & M.Ed. w.e.f. 15^th-31^stDecember, 2021.
7. Organized Webinar on Implementation of NEP 2020 at the bedrock level in the Union Territory of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh: How to make NEP 2020 work with regard to Teacher Education on 24^th November, 2021.
8. Organized Webinar on Implementation of NEP 2020 at the bedrock level in the Union Territory of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh: How to make NEP 2020 work with regard to Higher Education on 20^th October, 2021.
9. Organized Webinar on Implementation of NEP 2020 at the bedrock level in the Union Territory of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh: How to make NEP 2020 work with regard to School Education on 17^th September, 2021.
10. Organized Seven Day National Workshop on Research Methodology from 22^nd-27^th February 2021 in collaboration with UGC-HRDC, University of Jammu(in online mode).
11. Organized National Seminar ‘Experiential learning: innovations and trends’ under UGC-SAP (DRS-II) on 3^rd March, 2020.
12. Organized one-day workshop on ‘Action research for teacher educators’ under UGC-SAP (DRS-II) on 4^th February, 2020.
13. Organized two-day workshop on ‘Internship and Project work for teacher educators’ under UGC-SAP (DRS-II) from 27^th-28^th January, 2020.
14. Organized two-day workshop on Curriculum designing of M.A. Education & M.Ed. from 05^th-06^th December 2019 in the Department of Education.
15. Organized International Conference on ‘Revisiting the Gandhian philosophy: Relevance and applicability in the 21^st century’ from 07^th-08^th November, 2019 in collaboration with Central University of Jammu. 
16. Organized Round table Conference on National Education Draft in collaboration With School of Education, Central University of Jammu on 18.6.2019
17. Departmental Picnic was organized to Sanasar  lake on 3.5.2019.
18. Advisor meeting for UGC-SAP (DRS-II) was held on March 13, 2019.
19. Organized National Seminar on "Curricular Concerns for Quality in Teacher Education" under UGC-SAP(DRS-II) held on 15th of March 2019. 
20. Prof. M.A.Khan, Prof. Riaz Punjabi, Prof Kulvinder Singh, Prof. Rajender Pal and Prof. NigatBasu invited as Visiting Fellow under UGC-SAP (DRS-II) from March 13-16, 2019.
21. Organized one day workshop on Development of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in collaboration with Directorate of Samagra Shikshya, Jammu on 09.01.2019.
22. Organized 7 days Faculty Development Programme on NaiTalim, Experiential Learning and Work Education in School and Teacher Education Curriculum in collaboration with Mahatama Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Hyderabad held from 17.12.2018 to 23.12.2018.
23. Organized Freshers Cum Farewell function on 1.11.2018.

28. Organized a Workshop on NaiTalim, Work Education and Community Engagement in collaboration with Mahatama Gandhi National Council of Rural Education Department of Higher Education, MHRD, GOI, on 30.08.2018.
29. Celebrated ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ by the Faculty and Students on 25.7.2018.
30. Departmental Picnic was organized and in this connection, MA and M.Ed student were visited to Mantalai on 10.05.2018.
31. National seminar on ‘Diversity and Inclusive Education in Indian Scenario: Issues, Challenges and Prospects’ on February 16, 2018.
32. Invited Prof. R. P. Vadhera, Head, Department of Education, Mizoram University, Aizwal as visiting Fellow from 8.2.2018 to 14.2.2018.
33. Invited Prof. Marie Andrew, Montreal University, Canada as visiting Fellow from 8.1.2018 to 13.1.2018
34. Organised ‘’National Workshop on Research Methodology’ under SAP (DRS-II) from 1.1.2018 to 7.1.2018.
35. Organised Refresher Course in Teacher Education in Collaboration with UGC -HRDC, University of Jammu from 20.11.2017 to 13.12.2017.
36.  Published a book on ‘Curriculum Development in Teacher Education- Innovative Practices’ and Edited by Dr. Renu Nanda and Dr Mubarak Singh under UGC-SAP (DRS-II) which was released o 12.12. 2017.
37. Organised International Conference on ‘Critically, Empathy and Welfare in Contemporary Educational Discourses’ in collaboration with CESI on Nov. 16-18, 2017
38. Department Students and faculty members are participated in observing Sardal Vallvabai Patel Birth Anniversary organised by NSS wing, University of Jammu on 31.10.017
39.  Organised Fresher’s cum Farewell Party by MA and M.Ed IIIrd semester Students on 27.10.2017.
40. Ms. Manpreetr Kaur, M.A III semester student got second prize in ‘Display your Talent’ organised by DSW on 04.10.2017.
