An impressive Kavi sammelan has been organised by the Department of Hindi, University of Jammu and Yuva Hindi Lekhak Sangh, Jammu in connection with Hindi-diwas pakhwada.
The programme was presided over by Dr. Ashok Kumar. In his address, he said, "It is imperative for a writer to take a side with a philosophy, but he or she has to see the direction in which things are going." The senior writer, Rajiv Sharma spoke at length on the programme. He eulogised the creative process of the poets included in the program.
Dr. Rajkumar, Ashok Kumar, Sheikh Mohammad Kalyan, Pawan Khajuria, Sanjeev Bhasin, Dr. Parshottam Kumar, Rajiv Sharma, Devendra Kumar, Bhagwati Devi, Amita Mehta, Maharaj Krishn Santoshi, Bindiya Tickoo, Arun Bajaj, Hina Mahajan, Dr. Vikram Sahi, Soniya Upadhyay, Mehnaz Begum, Swarndeep, Anila Singh, Tanuj Syal, Iqbal Khullar and Dimple Verma regaled the audience with their poems on different social issues.
The programme was directed by Sheikh Mohammad Kalyan. Dr. Vandana Thakur presented a formal vote of thanks. Earlier, Dr. Parshottam Kumar presented the welcome address.
