The Business School, University of Jammu Organised One-Week Induction Programme

The Business School, University of Jammu organized one-week Induction Program for newly admitted students of MBA batch 2021-2023 from 10thJanuary 2022 to 14th  January,2022. The impressive inaugural ceremony on 10th January 2022 was presided over by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Manoj.K. Dhar. In his address ,Vice-Chancellor, congratulated The Business School for the good practice of holding induction programme for fresh batch and welcomed the newcomers to The Business School. He enthusiastically encouraged the students to follow the noble values of discipline in their everyday lives and contribute towards the nation building.

Earlier, in his welcome address Prof. Sameer Gupta, Director, The Business School, apprised that the Induction programme is in line with UGC guideline as per New Education Policy. He emphasized  that prime object of induction programme would help the students to appreciate the importance of professionalism and values.

The one week programme was a perfect blend of sessions delivered by Corporates, Entrepreneurs, Alumni and Eminent Professors of the University and outside the University of Jammu covered significant topics, such as E-commerce Entrepreneurship, Gender sensitivity; How to achieve success in life; Interaction with the distinguished alumni; Human values; How to begin a start-up; talent hunt;and about centralized facilities available within the University of Jammu and the last session was on the mentor-mentee relationship.

Further,the first day morning session started with an address by Shri Pankaj Gupta CEO, KGRM Enterprises. He talked about preparation needed for the interview either by doing SWOT analysis about yourself or being associated with any big firm. He also talks about the large format store (LFS) and how they are changing the landscape across the world. The afternoon session was delivered by Mr. Mohit Gupta an Alumnus of TBS presently CEO of Badri Mal Ram Charan. Who shared his own experience on “Entrepreneurship”.

The second day morning session started with key note speech by Ms Geetika Kohli, Alumnus of The Business School. She discussed the significance of New age skills and Career. The Afternoon session was delivered by Prof. Prakash Anthal,Dean Student Welfare, who briefed about the different extra-curricular activities and Prof.  Vishav Raksha, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee She discussed  about importance of cultural activities  and also about gender sensitivity issues.

Third day morning session was given by Dr. Nutan K.Resutra . He spoked about  Human Values. Afternoon session was delivered by Prof. Vinay Chauhan, Dean students Placement, University of Jammu. Who shared with the students the process and scope of placements and Prof. Neeru Sharma, Coordinator MOOCs Courses, gave students an insight into UGC’s MOOC online courses. She also explained the students, the importance and benefits of such online courses which are free to enrol and attend, can be attended by anyone, anywhere, anytime.

The fourth day, morning session was on different centralized facilities provided by the University of Jammu. Delivered by  Dr. Komal Nagar, Assistant Director, Physical Education, Prof. Satinder,Provost Hostel (Boys) and Prof. Shashi Manhas, Provost Hostel(Girls) Afternoon session was on Mentor–Mentee relationship by faculty members of The Business School, including Prof. Sameer Gupta( Director) Prof.Alka Sharma, Prof. vinay Chouhan,Dr. Rajendra Mishra, Dr. Amisha Gupta, Dr. Komal Nagar, Dr. Rachna, Dr. Saloni, Dr. Aubid and Dr. Shelleka Gupta wherein faculty members provided guidance and counselling to students about MBA as career path.  All the sessions were coordinated by the faculty members of The Business School.
