Refresher Course in Mathematical Sciences begins at University of Jammu

ProProf. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu, inaugurated the ONLINE  refresher course in mathematical sciences  which commenced in the University of Jammu and advocated the  need of  regular training of teachers in higher education  as there is a high degree of correlation between quality of dissemination of knowledge by teachers and the social and economic development of a country which has also been envisaged by the New Education Policy. Speaking on the occasion of inaugural of this 2 week long faculty improvement program organized by Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) in collaboration with Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu in the virtual mode. The Vice Chancellor also felt the need of organizing such training programs regularly so that the teachers are updated in their fields of specialization and which results in producing youths with requisite skills to make them employable in the current global scenario. The Vice-Chancellor also complimented Prof. K. S. Charak, HOD Mathematics  who is coordinating the refresher course wherein  65 faculty members   of mathematical sciences working in different colleges and universities of the country are participating besides congratulating Prof. Rahul Gupta, Director HRDC, University of Jammu for the planning of the course in a professional manner and choosing the topics to be covered in a meticulous way. Prof. Tarun K Das from Delhi University and Prof. Swadesh K Sahoo from IIT Indore, renowned mathematicians in the field  were the resource persons on the first day  who delivered lectures on Dynamical Systems and Topology to the participants and held interactive sessions. Sh. Ranjit Kalra, faculty of HRDC also addressed the participants and presented the vote of thanks.
