JU students visit Sri Raghunath Sanskrit Maha Vidyalaya

The Department of Home Science, University of Jammu organised an educational visit of the M.Sc students to Sri Raghunath Sanskrit Maha Vidyalaya in Birpur, Samba, as part of its outreach and practical program. The aim was to expose students to the management practices of this educational institution operated by the J&K Dharmarth Trust. The institution offers free educational and residential facilities to students from various remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir, providing them with modern education alongside instruction in religious rituals and traditional Vedic values, fostering their holistic development.

Led by Prof. Shashi Manhas from the Department of Home Science (Human Development), the group of M.Sc. students engaged in insightful interactions with the students of Sri Raghunath Sanskrit Maha Vidyalaya. Prof. Manhas emphasized the importance of morale-boosting and positive self-esteem, commending the institution for preserving Indian traditions and customs. Gratitude was extended to the Dharmarth Trust, particularly President Brig. (Retd.) Mr. R.S. Langeh and Jt. Secretary Virinder Jamwal, for facilitating the visit.

Members of the Home Science department and Prof. Shashi Manhas lauded the management of Sri Raghunath Sanskrit Maha Vidyalaya for their commendable efforts in maintaining the institution. Principal Mrs. Parveen Khajuria, along with Sh. Kuldeep Shastri and the school staff, provided comprehensive insight into the school's infrastructure, including its extensive library. Under their guidance, students delivered a spiritual presentation showcasing their proficiency in reciting shlokas and their commitment to community service.
