Students and faculty of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Gharota Visits Rinchin Bzangpo Art Gallery, JU External

Students and faculty members from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Gharota, Jammu, embarked on an engaging cultural expedition to the renowned Rinchin Bzangpo Art Gallery at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. The visit was coordinated by Sh. Rakesh Sharma, Head of the Department of Fine Arts and Coordinator of Rinchin Bzangpo Art Gallery, University of Jammu, accompanied by Deepak Sharma, Gallery Technical Assistant.

Aligned with the principles of NEP 2020, the visit aimed at fostering the holistic development of students, equipping them with knowledge and guidance to become productive and socially responsible citizens. Under the esteemed leadership of Prof. Umesh Rai, Honourable Vice Chancellor, the University of Jammu has been proactive in promoting cultural values by organizing various educational and cultural events throughout the academic year.

During the cultural visit to JU, students delved into the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, gaining insights into contemporary artworks by esteemed artists. The gallery showcased original works by prominent figures such as Shyam Sharma( Padmashree awardee) , Arpana Caur(New Delhi) , Sh Vijay Saraf (Jammu) , Sh Pranaam Singh (BHU Varanasi) , Sh Achutan Kudallur( Chennai) Sh Masood Hussain( Srinagar,Kmr) ,Shamshad Hussain (Delhi) ,Sh Viren Tanwar (Delhi) Manav Jena (Orissa) ,Sh Harshvardhan Sharma(Jammu)  , Sh. ND Jamwal(Padmashri Awardee ,Sahitya Akademi awardee) , Sh. Sohan S Bloria (Renowned Basohli School artist) Sh Sarabjeet Singh(war journalist,artist,writer ,poet) 

Sh. Rakesh Sharma provided valuable insights into the artists and the historical significance of their works, enriching the students' appreciation for art. Additionally, students were given  a tour of the Zorawar Singh auditorium complex, which houses a museum showcasing the cultural diversity of the Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh regions.
