DEPT OF SANSKRIT, JU Celebrates GEETA JAYANTI 

Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu celebrated Geeta Jayanti today  in which more than 30 students from various colleges of Jammu and the Arts Faculty of Jammu University took part in the Shloka recitation competition. Students from the Dogri department, English department, Urdu department , Parede college, M.A.M College, Udhampur College, Purmandal College, and Nowshera College were present among the students

 Dean Faculty of Arts, Professor Sucheta Pathania was present as Chief guest. Professor Riyaz Ahmad, Head of the Urdu Department, Professor Baljeet Kaur, Head of the Punjabi Department were present in the Capacity of Vishisht Atithi. Professor Rampratap Vedalankar, former Dean Faculty of Arts & head Department of Sanskrit was the keynote speaker at this event.

 Mr. George, who has come from America and is an expert in Kashmir philosophy, graced the event and made all the children aware of the explanation written in Gita by Abhinav Gupta.

Chahat Bhalwal, a student of the Department of Sanskrit got the first position and Priya Sagar got the second position and Nikita Sharma, a student from Parade College, got the third position in the shloka recitation competition.

This program was conducted under the supervision of Professor Sushma Devi Gupta, Head of the Department of Sanskrit, The welcome address was delivered by Prof Sushma Devi, HOD Sanskrit today's programme was conducted by Dr Satyapriy Arya & Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr Kamini Sharma.
